Halle Berry won a battle in court today with ex Gabriel Aubry. But, as this custody battle rages on, it’s clear who the real loser will be: three-year old Nahla.

Sunny Day Out

Sources tell TMZ the former couple was in front of a judge because Berry will be leaving to film a movie in Europe and there was an issue over which parent gets to spend time with his/her daughter when Halle is working.

Berry won this round, meaning Nahla will be accompanying her mom overseas.

The issue is unrelated to a larger problem Berry has brought up to the court, however. She alleges that Aubry has imperiled the safety of their child. Many more hearings will unfortunately take place involving the family.

Perhaps this explains why Demi Lovato has battled so many personal demons…

In an interview with E! News last night, the 19-year old singer was asked about that network’s reason for existence: Kim Kardashian. She replied:”"She’s been a friend of mine for a little bit and she’s like a big sister to me.”

Kim introduced Demi at the Do Something Awards earlier this month, a performance by Lovato you can view HERE.

Elsewhere, Lovato touched on her constant battle and how she manages to maintain mental health these days.

“I surround myself with people that are beneficial in my recovery and my recovery is still a daily battle and I definitely hang out with people that support me in making the right decisions,” Lovato said. “I’m a happier and healthier person today because of the choices I’ve made.”

We wish her the best of luck with all those choices. We just recommend a new role model.

It’s on a very different level than the tragedy of Russell Armstrong’s suicide on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but another installment in this Bravo franchise is facing yet another scandal.

Matt Holmes – the father of Ashlee Holmes and former lover of Jacqueline Laurita (pictured) – has been arrested in Texas for arson, insurance fraud and money laundering. He and his wife, Jodi Sue, were booked for a fire that destroyed their home in March.

According to Radar Online, a witness has come forward and said Matt started the fire in order to collect on a $429,000 insurance policy. The couple then allegedly used this cash to purchase items such as a diamond ring.

Local authorities are working with the FBI on the case, but Ashlee has already taken to Twitter to defend her father:

“FYI- my parents have NOT been indicted..this whole thing was started by a disgruntled employee..they are INNOCENT &that’s all i have to say.”

The 10th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York City is just two weeks from Sunday. How the world has changed in the decade since.

In the video below, CBS takes us inside the memorial site at ground zero, where a a test on one of the reflecting pools was recently run. It’s very cool.

Two pools, each in the footprint of a tower, are an acre in size and 50 feet deep, and will become the largest human-made waterfalls in the nation.

Is Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi the next Kim Kardashian? Does anyone even know what we mean by that? Probably not on both counts.

On Dancing With the Stars: They’re saying I’m holding out for money … I never got asked to even do the show, so I don’t know where that’s coming from. I’d do it, but probably not right now because I’m so busy with everything going on.

On her fragrance: “I’m really excited by it. It’s called Snooki by Nicole Polizzi. It’s kind of like a cotton candy smell, sweety and fruity. A flirty scent.”

On her boot line: “It’s called Snooki Boots. I was going to name it Snuggs, but that’s taken. I have a black and a leopard-print one, clogs and slip-ons.”

On how much longer she will keep doing Jersey Shore, which wrapped filming on Season 5: “I’m down to do as many as they want us to.”

On giving Kim and all the Kardashians a run for their money in the fame game: “Hopefully. You know I’d love to be on their level. I’m trying.”

Not exactly shocking news, we know, but The Bachelorette couple are loving life in the “honeymoon phase” of their (adorable) relationship together.

“They held hands for the walk and were always in conversation,” a source tells Us of the former Philadelphia resident and NYC-dwelling J.P.

Hebert and her beau enjoyed dinner Wednesday night at at ZIO, an Italian eatery in NYC’s Flatiron district, joined by J.P.’s brother Roy and his girlfriend Angela Pope.

The foursome ate at the restaurant’s “Chef’s Table” by the open kitchen.

Will they be getting married anytime soon? Adds a pal, “They are simpatico. After they get a bit more settled, they’ll discuss long-term plans.”

Ashley Hebert is currently commuting to Philly to finish school while living part-time with her man in the Big Apple. Here’s hoping it goes well!

Sources say the acquitted murder suspect is going back to college online. While confined to the Sunshine State, she’s determined to better herself.

Casey will hit the books from the comfort of her own home, the location of which is top secret. Not that she planned to spend time outside anyway.

Anthony will be watched by a 24-hour security team, reports say.

No word yet on what she’ll be studying, or if the security people will also make sure she completes all her homework assignments on time.

Lilo recently sued the rapper because she feels his lyrics are disparaging her name – in the #1 track, he says he’s “got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan.”

AWFUL, we know. Definite grounds for a lawsuit.

Pitbull responded that his intention was never to defame her, and if anything, he’s helping keep Lohan relevant. But he’s not out of Lohan’s doghouse.

Sources close to Lohan say she has no interest in going to the VMAs – which Pit invited her to as a show of good faith – and his apology had no impact.

The lawsuit is moving forward, and ridiculous.
